If the Super Bowl is on mute, does it make a sound?

A haiku inspired by Super Bowl XLIII

Your ads are so dull

And there were so damn many

Is there a game here?

I don’t get football

And ask lots of dumb questions

Like “What’s ‘first down’ mean?”

And I missed a bunch

While making Eggplant Parmesan

But I saw replays

Like the 100 yard run

And the debate about it

That went on and on

Remember the year

That the wardrobe malfunctioned?

All Jacksons wacko.

Or how about Prince

Singing ‘Purple Rain’ in rain

With a ‘do rag on

Then I missed the end

As I was upstairs packing

Heard the Steelers won

Saw a highlight reel

This morning on CNN

Reel better than real.

p.s.

Happy Groundhog day.

Another ridiculous thing I don’t understand.

Although I like the movie

    1. If the superbowl does still make a sound after you muted it, your TV’s broke.

    2. I’ve never been to an american football game, and so can’t comment on whether, if someone were to mute it from home, the sound goes off in the stadium. I should imagine it does, I mean after all if someone’s house were right next to the stadium, you wouldn’t want a game still going on when you’ve pressed mute, would you ?? DUH !!!!
