This is quite possibly the stupidest thing ever

But at the same time it’s all kinds of awesome.

Anyway, okay, so do you remember the charmingly idiotic Keyboard Cat video that was all the rage a couple years ago? If not, or if you’re just not travelling in the cool circles like I am, here’s a refresher:

Okay, so yesterday I saw someone Twitter something about ‘in memory of keyboard cat’ (because the cat is dead. In fact, I think it had already passed on before becoming famous.), and I followed the link and found this.

I so want this.

Oh yes.

The horrible wolf shirt re-envisioned as a celebration of the majestic creature known as Keyboard Cat.

It’s genius, and I only wish it were actually available rather than a mere suggestion that maybe threadless.com will sell.

Okay, so then I thought I should revisit Keyboard Cat, and what I found was a veritable treasure trove. Like this awesome ‘Behind the Music’ thing

I totally had a weird eye twitch like the Sha Na Na guy the whole entire day I came home from Mexico. It was really annoying.

I love the part about how if you were born between 1991 and 1995, Keyboard Cat is probably your father. Although that guy is too old to have been born in 1991, but that’s just sweating the details I suppose.

And THEN it turns out there’s this thing where people play off Keyboard Cat, which basically just means they intersplice footage of her (Fatso was a female, it turns out) with footage of something or someone stupid, as if Keyboard Cat is gong showing them off stage. Like this Walker, Texas Ranger episode with a young pre-Sixth Sense Haley Joel Osmont.

Okay, one more. Dick Cheney + Keyboard Cat, who if you ask me, is all the spin doctoring Dick will ever need. Keyboard Cat makes me actually want to watch footage of Dick Cheney. And without a gun pointed at his head.

I tell you what, that cat never gets old.

(And just to prove it, here’s Charles Barkley nearly killing someone with his terrible golf swing…and, of course, Keyboard Cat.)

I almost forgot the best one.

You have to see Miss South Carolina played off by Keyboard Cat. (I’m so amused by how they slow her voice down to a retarded drone.)

In addition to all this Keyboard Cat wonderfulness, now you have a terrifying insight into how I spend my time…

The worst of it is, I am COMPLETELY SOBER through it all.

Basically, I have the sense of humor of a 12-year old boy. It’s a wonder I’m not out there buying Axe Deodorent spray in “chocolate” and begging my parents for an XBox 360.
